Manchester United's bid to retain their Premier League and Champions League crowns suffered a fresh blow on Friday when Dimitar Berbatov was ruled out of action for two weeks.

Manchester United's bid to retain their Premier League and Champions League crowns suffered a fresh blow on Friday when Dimitar Berbatov was ruled out of action for two weeks.

An ankle injury means the Bulgarian striker will miss Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa and both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against FC Porto.

United are already without suspended trio Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Paul Scholes for Sunday's match against Villa, which will see Sir Alex Ferguson's side attempt to put their title defence back on track following back-to-back defeats by Liverpool and Fulham.
