Dhols fall silent in this Goregaon colony

Around 35 members of the Pathak had gone to Pune to perform on the birth anniversary of Dr Babsaheb Ambedkar on Friday. They then boarded a private bus around 1.30 am on Saturday hoping to return home early in the morning. However, on the way, the bus fell in a gorge and nine members of the group died and 19 suffered injuries, with some of them admitted to the intensive care units.

Coarse grains, a door to prosperity of small farmers, says JP Dalal

Haryana's agriculture minister JP Dalal said the state government is promoting millets as a nutritious food and a doorway to prosperity for small farmers. Millet is grown in an estimated 10-12 lakh acres in the state and the government is providing grants to farmers under the National Food Security Mission. The UN has declared 2023 as the International Year of Millet. The government is organising monthly programmes for awareness under this initiative.

Minor booked for molesting 8-year-old boy

On Saturday evening, the children of the colony were playing in a garden, when the accused – who also lives in the same neighbourhood – approached the eight-year-old boy and took him to one of the vacant houses in the area and molested him.

“When the accused was taking the survivor to the house, one of his older cousins saw them going upstairs. The cousin ran to bring the boy’s father there. The father and some of the children who were playing went to look for him together towards the empty house,” said the officer.
