After taking a dig at South films flopping, Siddharth Anand books FDFS tickets for Toxic: ‘Yash is that superstar’
Siddharth Anand is excited to watch Geetu Mohandas' Toxic: A Fairytale for GrownUps, which stars Yash in the lead role.
Yash's pan-India release, Toxic: A FairyTale for GrownUps, is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. After much delay, the Geetu Mohandas film is finally releasing in theatres on August 26. On Monday, filmmaker Siddharth Anand shared that he has booked first day, first show tickets for the film and is excited to see Yash on screen.

Siddharth praises Yash
Taking to X, Siddharth wrote, “Booked tickets for FD for #TOXIC. Going into a theatre not knowing what to expect. This feeling is so good!! YASH is that superstar - so exciting and so unpredictable! He’s broken the mould. Everything about the film is looking fantastic and dynamic! My best to the whole team!!”
How internet reacted
Several fans praised the filmmaker for supporting Toxic, while there were others who were reminded of his recent dig at South film releases with big stars tanking at the box office. One user wrote, "After this tweet, this is clear that the "oops" was not for any industry or north South rift, that was a definition of Prabhas career." “Tollywood is such a nightmare for this guy. Can’t imagine the sleepless nights TFI heroes have given him,” quipped another user.
For the unversed, last week, the filmmaker reacted to the list of recent Telugu film releases with big stars that have performed far below expectations at the box office. The X user listed the number of films, including NTR Jr's Devara, Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom, Ram Charan's Peddi, Prabhas' The Raja Saab, Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaj. After each title, the user wrote: ‘flop’. Siddharth simply wrote ‘Oops,’ in the reply section of the post.
Many Telugu film fans were disappointed by the director's dismissive comment about the industry and its films. One user commented, “Says the director who blamed audience for the flop of Fighter. @justSidAnand. Kalki 1000cr, Devara Hit, OG had one of the biggest opening in india. Your next movie is KING, if you have guts release it against Prabhas again.”
Siddharth's next release is Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King. The film marks Suhana Khan’s grand theatrical debut. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King is scheduled to release in cinemas on 24 December 2026.
