Targeted killings in Punjab also on NIA radar: Says official

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has this month initiated probes in two such cases – firing on a priest, Kamaldeep Sharma, and sewadar (volunteer) Simranjit Kaur – on January 31 this year in Phillaur, seriously injuring them, and killing of a dera follower Manohar Lal in Bhatinda on November 20 last year.

IED recovery case: NIA conducts searches at 7 locations in Jammu and Kashmir

The IED, weighing around five-six kilograms, was recovered by Jammu Police from a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba operative who was tasked with using it at a crowded place. The NIA has raided a number of locations across the union territory during the course of its investigation.

Islamic State trying to spread in India through constant propaganda online: NIA

The NIA said in a statement that it has arrested as many as 168 accused in 37 cases related to the Islamic State so far, of which, charge sheets have been filed in 31 cases and 27 accused have been convicted following trial.

Officials in security agencies investigating drone activity from across the border said that all anti-India groups, be it Islamic terrorists such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, or Hizbul Mujahideen, Khalistani terrorists, and drug smugglers are increasingly using drones to deliver arms, explosives, and drugs to avoid capture.

NIA raids 5 more J&K areas in JeI terror funding case

The Centre banned the JeI for five years after the Pulwama attack, in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed, under anti-terror laws on the grounds that it was “in close touch” with terror outfits and was likely to “escalate secessionist movement” in the region.

NIA takes over Uranium seizure case from Maha ATS

“In the presence of an order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the agency has re-registered the case which was earlier registered by the ATS at the Kalachowki unit in Mumbai under section 24 (1) (a) of the Atomic Energy Act,” the agency spokesperson said.
