Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has claimed that the men who allegedly killed Amravati-based pharmacist Umesh Kolhe were radicalised and were members of Tablighi Jamaat, who were instigated by social activist Irfan Khan and Maulavi Mushfique Ahmad
Kolhe, who ran a medical store in Amravati, was going home on his scooter on the night of June 21 when he was hacked to death by three young men on a bike.
Nityanand Rai also underlined that the NIA is required to investigate and prosecute offences of grave nature affecting the sovereignty, security, and integrity of India, security of the state, friendly relations with foreign states, matters relating to international treaties, etc.

The Supreme Court put the NIA in the dock over its attempts to link civil rights activist and Bhima-Koregaon case accused Gautam Navlakha with a series of anti-national activities.
