Complainant in bribery case is one among accused, reveals CBI probe

The premier investigation agency was probing a complaint against Dinesh Bhatia, associate professor at NEHU (North Eastern Hill University) and head of the department of bio-medical engineering in Shillong, who had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs 40,000.

Day one witnessed sparse attendance as teachers, parents and students are still wary of venturing out with cases increasing each day especially in Shillong agglomeration. However, it was noticed today that people are still unsure and are yet to come to terms with the new normal.

Meghalaya’s Covid-19 count comes down from 44 to 43 after patient found ‘false positive’

The patient was put under quarantine and 43 of his contacts were also traced. But the doctors were surprised, as none of his contacts, including the source from where he was suspected to have contracted SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, were found to be infected.
