The victim screamed for help and some passersby rushed to his rescue. The victim later called his friends, who took him to a hospital. He complained to the police in the evening. A case under relevant sections was registered at the Udyog Vihar police station, said the police.

Officials said a contractor from Gurgaon village had rented out 150 square yards to scrap warehouses, owners of which had built little shanties for workers, scrap dealers and rag pickers. The fire started at one of the warehouses and spread to the shanties, a few of which were razed.

A massive fire broke out at a printing press in Ecotech 3, Greater Noida around 5 am on Monday and the fire department took nearly 14 hours to control the flames. No one was injured in the incident as workers were not present on the press premises in the early hours.

Gurugram cyber fraud case: 15 held for duping users in Microsoft’s name

Microsoft had alleged that fake call centres from at least eight locations in the city were duping unsuspecting users based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada in the garb of proving “technical support” using Microsoft’s name.

The police arrested seven people, including the prime accused Suresh Waikhom, a native of Manipur. Police found that the company had no name and neither was it registered.
