The YSR Congress party government sent the two bills – one on abolishing AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) which was formed in 2014 to develop Amaravati as the capital city and the second one, to form three capital cities for decentralised administration, to the Raj Bhavan on Saturday.
The TTD staff pointed out that over 1,000 Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Tirupati town and around 100 TTD employees had contracted SARS-CoV-2, which causes the viral disease.(PTI)

Andhra showdown over select committees to study capital bills intensifies

The YSRC government declared on Tuesday that the two bills -- AP Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020 and the AP Capital Region Development Authority (Repeal) Bill – were deemed to have been passed, as the select committees could not be formed within the mandatory period of 14 days as per the legislature rules.
