Curfew in Ratnagiri, RR Patil orders magisterial probe

Curfew was imposed in Ratnagiri district today after the day-long bandh called by the opposition Shiv Sena to protest the setting up of a nuclear power project in Jaitapur on Tuesday turned violent. According to reports, the move was taken shortly after a mob ransacked a district hospital and torched buses. The mob also set on fire some state transport buses and other vehicles, according to government officials.
