Rains across North India may pose a threat to the region's standing Rabi crop, especially wheat, which has currently entered the harvesting stage. While farmers were happy over the extended winter season, the unexpected rain and hailstorm has them worrying about their wheat crops. Farmers feel a sprinkling of rain benefits the crops, but hailstorms and heavy rainfall make the soil loose.
