Australia broke a 24 year jinx to win the Hockey World Cup for the second time by defeating defending champions Germany by 2-1 in an absorbing final at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi. Meanwhile, German captain Muller Maximilian said the side failed to convert penalty corners.
