Niranjan Shah, secretary of the BCCI, on February 25 slammed Australian cricketers and said that sledging provoked Indian players. Rising to the defence of the team after Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for spat with Andrew Symonds, Shah made it clear that BCCI would stand by its players.
