The disturbingly ordinary conversation between the 36-year-old mother and Patrick Clancy commenced slightly more than an hour prior to the alleged strangulation of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan within their residence in Duxbury, Massachusetts, while Patrick was out running errands.

Text messages from Lindsay Clancy unveiled

“Any chance you want to do take out from ThreeV,” Clancy messaged Patrick regarding a nearby restaurant at 4:53 p.m. on January 24, 2023, as per NY Post. “I didn’t cook anything. It’s been a long day.”

“Yeah,” Patrick responded. Okie doke,” Clancy stated. “Check the menu when you can.”

What are you getting?” Patrick inquired of Clancy regarding her takeout selection.

He then proceeded to ask her whether their infant son, Callan, had awakened, to which she replied, “It was just a short nap.”

“Oh, okay,” Patrick said.

Shortly thereafter, Clancy sent him her food order via text, to which he promptly replied with his own.

"Mediterranean Power bowl," Clancy messaged at 5:07 p.m.

"Okay, I will do scallops and pork belly risotto," he swiftly responded.

Where was Patrick Clancy at the time of killing?

Patrick visited a nearby CVS to buy medication for his daughter before heading to the food establishment to collect their order, arriving home shortly after 6 p.m. to a shocking sight — discovering Cora and Dawson lifeless, while Callan was barely holding on to life.

Initially, Patrick noticed Clancy lying on her back in their backyard after she attempted suicide by jumping from the window of their second-story bedroom. She had inflicted cuts on her wrists and neck before partially paralyzing herself in the fall, as per the testimony.

The text messages were examined during the testimony of State Trooper Timothy Chiappini, who conducted an analysis of Clancy’s cellphone.

Lindsay Clancy trial

Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, is urging the jury to acquit her on the grounds of insanity, asserting that she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and was influenced by voices instructing her to commit the tragic acts.

On the other hand, prosecutors argue that Clancy meticulously orchestrated the murders, motivated by a desire to escape the responsibilities of motherhood.

Thursday marked the end of the third week of the trial. The jury will not convene on Friday and is expected to return to court on Monday morning.
