‘I don’t talk about my personal life’

Amrita Rao refuses to discuss her alleged link-up with RJ Anmol; calls herself a “private person”

A few months ago, reports revealed that Amrita Rao had apparently married RJ Anmol in a private ceremony in Mumbai. But when we asked the actor about her marital status, she chose to keep mum. “I have never chosen to comment on any piece of news about me. I react to news like this with silence,” says the actor, adding that “time will reveal a lot”.

“I am a private person. You will never hear me talk about or promote my family,” says Amrita Rao.

Amrita, who prefers maintaining a low profile, adds, “Tomorrow anyone can make any statement about me; so I can’t go on a clarification spree. Anyway, I am a private person. You will never hear me talk about or promote my family. My father is well-known in his own circle and my sister Preetika, too, is a popular actor. So, I don’t talk about my personal life,” says Amrita, who has acted in films like Singh Saab The Great and Satyagraha (both in 2013).

On the career front, she has been busy shooting for her debut television show. She will be seen singing in the series, and is looking forward to it. Not many know that Amrita has professionally learnt singing. She says, “Singing has been part of my upbringing. I have been trained for three years in Hindustani classical music. I keep humming and many Bollywood co-stars have been victimised by my relentless singing,” she says, laughing.
