Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya makes first parliament appearance with wife Sivasri Skandaprasad

Tejasvi Surya got married to Carnatic singer Sivasri Skandaprasad on March 6, in an intimate ceremony.

The couple, who recently tied the knot, made their first public appearance together in Parliament.

Surya got married to Carnatic singer Sivasri Skandaprasad on March 6, in an intimate ceremony that remained largely away from media attention. The wedding, held in the presence of close family members and a select group of political associates, marked a new chapter in the life of the two-time parliamentarian.

Several top BJP leaders including party's state president B Y Vijayendra, Union ministers V Somanna and Arjun Ram Meghwal, as well as BJP MPs and MLAs attended the ceremony and blessed the couple.

The 34-year-old MP later said in a post on ‘X’, “With the blessings of Gurus, elders, and well wishers, married @ArtSivasri today as per vedic traditions. We seek your blessings and wishes as we start this journey together!”

Newlyweds asked guests to avoid these two gifts

Surya took to X to share a video for those planning to attend their wedding reception in Bengaluru with a request from him and his bride. "Sivasri and I are eagerly looking forward to see you all at our wedding reception tomorrow. However, we have a request," the post read.

Sivasri Skandaprasad is a trained Carnatic musician and Bharatanatyam dancer who has performed on prestigious stages, including Brahma Gana Sabha and Kartik Fine Arts, as well as in Denmark and South Korea.

Academically, she holds a degree in bioengineering from SASTRA University and a master's in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras. She has also studied Sanskrit and earned a diploma in Ayurvedic cosmetology.
