Sudhir Chaurasia has been supplying “paan” (betel) for the daily rituals of Ram Lalla in the makeshift temple for years.

UP Board Exams-2024: Computerised IDs with unique QR codes for invigilators this time

UP Board will introduce computerised identity cards with unique QR codes and serial numbers for invigilators in order to ensure fair exams. Around 2.75 lakh invigilators will receive these identity cards, which will prevent replication and impersonation. The cards will also display the teaching subject of the invigilator, allowing for substitution by other teachers to prevent cheating. The exams will take place from February 22 to March 9, with a total of 17 days of exams in two shifts. Over 55 lakh students are registered to appear for the exams.

‘More than 8 lakh IPPB accounts opened in Prayagraj region’

Over 14,000 accounts were opened by the postal department in Prayagraj, India, as part of a campaign to provide direct benefit transfer payments to beneficiaries. So far, over 800,000 people have opened accounts with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in the region, allowing them to access banking services at home. The accounts were opened using only Aadhaar and mobile numbers. The postmaster general stated that these accounts enable digital and paperless banking services to be easily accessible to all. Users can withdraw up to INR 10,000 ($140) per day from their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts using micro ATMs carried by postmen. The campaign also allows people to open IPPB accounts at their doorstep or in post offices.
