2024 LS polls:Four smaller pol parties extend support to Samajwadi Party
Four smaller political parties have pledged their unconditional support to the Samajwadi Party for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The parties will work as allies of the Samajwadi Party in Eastern UP and help the party on at least 14 parliamentary seats in the region. They plan to hold small meetings with locals in these constituencies to garner support for the Samajwadi Party. The leaders of these smaller parties believe that their collective support will be a gamechanger in the upcoming elections.

“Around a week ago, we met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow and extended our unconditional support. He welcomed our decision and asked us to start preparations for the Lok Sabha elections,” said Shashi Pratap Singh, president, National Equal Party (NEP), who has been instrumental in bringing these smaller parties together and then holding a meeting with the SP chief.
Janata Unnati Party president Anil Chauhan, Rashtriya Karyarat Party chief Tuntun Pandey and Bhamashah Party chief Subhash Gupta along with National Equal Party chief Shashi Pratap Singh met the SP chief in Lucknow.
The leaders of these political parties will work as allies of the Samajwadi Party at grassroot level in Eastern UP and will help the party on at least 14 parliamentary seats, including Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra (Robertsganj), Machhali Shahar, Varanasi, Chandauli, Gorakhpur, Kushi Nagar in the region in the LS elections, said NEP chief Singh.
“We will hold small meetings with the locals in the rural pockets in all these 14 assembly constituencies in favour of the Samajwadi Party,” said Singh.
On how these little-known smaller outfits with hardly any base would be able to support the SP, Singh said, “We know that we are small parties and each of these four parties has just a smaller base that too in limited pockets. But don’t forget, together we are a strong force, and we are continuously working to expand our base. Whatever support we can gather for the SP, we will.”
He claims that the leaders of these smaller parties have support in their respective areas. Anil Chauhan enjoys support of Chauhan community in Gorakhpur and Kushi Nagar. He would hold meetings in Gorakhpur, Kushi Nagar, Ballia, Ghazipur, Mau wherever Chauhan community is in significant numbers.
Singh says that Subhash Gupta of Bhamashah Party will hold meeting with Gupta community people on these 14 seats and NEP president Singh will hold meeting with Rajpoot community members.
“In this election, the smaller parties will prove to be a gamechanger,” Singh said and added that these small allies will leave no stone unturned to help the SP trying to regain its lost ground in Eastern UP region, including Azamgarh, which the SP lost in LS By-election held in June 2022.
“We will make efforts to create equations in favour of the SP,” added Singh.
