India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI Highlights: Dasun Shanaka scores century in defeat as IND beat SL by 67 runs

Virat Kohli on 90 off 73 balls, Hardik Pandya at the other end with 14 off 11 balls. Partnership between these two is on 27 off 20 now. 

Off the next ball, Kohli goes for a back foot punch and sends it past deep cover for another consecutive boundary. 

Slow delivery from Karunaratne and Kohli slams it over midwicket for a boundary off the third ball of the 44th. 

Kohli is living a charmed life! Sri Lanka just cannot hold on when it is him scooping them up. Kohli comes down the pitch, Rajitha sends it wide and the batter scoops it to the captain Dasun Shanaka at cover. Shanaka drops the dolly and the Indians manage a single. 

Hasaranga tosses this one up and it goes nice and wide, Pandya sends it back over the bowler's head to get off the mark with a six. 

Rahul tries to get inside the line of the fifth ball but is late to the shot. The ball clips the leg stump and that is a wicket out of nowhere really for Sri Lanka.

India have reached 303/3. KL Rahul drives Rajitha inside out over cover to the boundary. He moves to 39 off 28. 

Kohli is on 74 off 62, Rahul on 35 off 27. He had scored a century the last time he batted in an ODI match, remember. Is it going to back to back centuries for Kohli. 

Misfield from Sri Lanka gives Kohli another boundary. Sri Lanka have been good in the field and they would not want these to creep in now. 

That is just sensational from Kohli. Rajitha sends the fifth ball slow and Kohli flicks it past mid-on. Then a short ball and Kohli almost raises his bat over his head to ramp it. The ball goes straight over the wicketkeeper's head to the boundary. India are 272/3 in in 37 overs. 

Rahul applies some salt and chillie powder in Sri Lanka's wounds by coming on strike and ferociously cutting the third ball of Rajitha's over to the boundary. 

Straightforward chance for Kusal Mendis and he drops it. To make it worse, it is Virat Kohli who seems to have that look in his eyes today. First ball of the 37th over starts with disappointment for Sri Lanka. 

A single off the next ball for Kohli and then Rahul goes for a big slog sweep off Dhanajaya for the second six of the over. There had been no boundaries for a few overs but have these two opened the tap once again?

Kohli skips down the wicket to Dhananjaya de Silva and sends the ball over cow-corner for a flat six. Half century number 65 for the former India captain. 

The run rate has slowed down now with Kohli and Rahul preferring to knock the singles off calmly, apart from the fact that the Sri Lankan fielders in the deep have hardly made a mistake today. India can afford to do this at the moment. Kohli has moved to 40 off 42 balls. 

Kohli is on 35 off 33 balls, Rahul on five off eight. India should be careful not to squander the good work they have done thus far. At the same time, they would want to make sure the target they set is difficult enough for Sri Lanka to chase despite all the help they are going to get with the dew. 

Iyer tries a big sweep off Dhananjaya de Silva, doesn't manage to get it on the middle. He in fact gets a top edge and puts it straight down the throat of deep square leg.

Iyer jumps out to Hasaranga and sends the ball over the bowler's head. India have crossed 200 in just 28 overs. 

Iyer gets to 14 off 13 with those two boundaries off the fourth and fifth balls. India are 193/2 in 26 overs. 

He had hit a straight drive off the third ball of the 24th but that smashed into the stumps and the batters ran two. He then manages to get the next shot past the stumps, times it perfectly and the super fast outfield does the rest. 

Length ball from Madushanka, it probably straighten a bit and takes the inside edge of the bat as Rohit tries to play it square on the off side.

This partnership has already raced to 30 off 20 balls. Sri Lanka need another one as soon as possible, India are flying now. 

Kohli has tried a few shots to the boundary thus far and finally finds it. Charges at Shanaka and places it wide of mid-on. 

Rohit Sharma with a four off the second ball of the 21st but nothing much for India apart from that. There was the customary roar that went up around the ground when Virat Kohli walked out to bat. 

Dasun Shanaka is the man who gets the wicket and the opening stand ends at 143. Gill plays accross the line, misses it completely and takes his pads. The umpire raises his finger and Gill doesn't even review it, it was plumb.
