Bharat Bhushan appointed DGCA

E K Bharat Bhushan, additional secretary and financial advisor in the civil aviation ministry, today took over as Director General of Civil Aviation.

E K Bharat Bhushan, additional secretary and financial advisor in the civil aviation ministry, on Friday took over as Director General of Civil Aviation.

Bhushan, an IAS officer of the 1979 batch from Kerala cadre, took over from Syed Nasim Ahmad Zaidi, who is now the civil aviation secretary.

In April last year, he was given the additional charge of Air India as an interim CMD in place of Raghu Menon.

55-year-old Bhushan, who had joined the ministry as a joint secretary and financial advisor, has earlier served as financial advisor of the Union tourism ministry.

He has also served in Kerala tourism ministry.
