DU teachers to protest essay’s exclusion

Irked over the removal of AK Ramanujan’s 300 Ramayanas from the syllabus of BA History, teachers of Delhi University have decided to hold a protest against the move on Monday.

Voicing their concern about the “undemocratic” decision “imposed by right-wing activists”, the Facebook page that has more than 500 teachers as its members is urging people to participate in the protest.

A group of teachers has also started a signature campaign, addressed to the Vice Chancellor, demanding the essay's inclusion.

The campaign has already gathered 172 signatures.
