Jaitley files case over fake twitter profile

Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, has filed an FIR with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police after he discovered that a fake account has been created in his name on Twitter, a social networking website. Faizan Haider reports.

“It appears that someone is impersonating me and has created a fake account in my name. This person has also put my photograph in the account,” Jaitley said in his complaint.

The EOW has asked Twitter to provide details of the user. “It seems that the account was active for quite sometime as the user has posted comments regularly and chatting with Jaitley’s friends,” a police officer said.
