The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Anand Vihar line is likely to start next week. “The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety is to inspect the line (Yamuna Bank – Anand Vihar line) on January 4. Once he gives a green signal, we will start the line immediately,” DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said.
The Metro has been carrying out trial runs on the 6.17 km line and also sprucing up stations and other utilities for the same. Earlier, it had announced that the line would be opened by 2009 end.
There are four stations between Yamuna Bank and Anand Vihar on the line, which is actually an extension of the already operational Dwarka-Yamuna Bank line. The stations are Laxmi Nagar, Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar and Karkarduma.
