CBSE Board Exam 2023 Live: Class 12 Accountancy paper ends, analysis here

The class 12 CBSE Accountancy paper was balanced. The blueprint issued by CBSE board was followed; It was strictly as per syllabus. The basic concepts of students were tested.

There was one factual error in a one marker ( MCQ). In the same question in all three sets; the correct option was not found in the options specified.

The overall Difficulty level of the questions was moderate. The questions were based only on the topics mentioned in the CBSE Syllabus.

Section-B was average

No tricky questions were asked. Feedback from students was that the paper was balanced. Everything was from the syllabus. They were satisfied with the paper.

The Accountancy exam was a moderate one. After the exam, the students returned with bright expressions. Students were able to attempt most of the questions. However, some questions were a little challenging and required conceptual understanding, which could only be successfully answered by high achievers. Accounting involves a lot of calculations, and those were found to be quite simple, which saved students time.

"Today's Accountancy paper was a good paper. Students were able to complete it on time.

The questions were familiar and as per the sample papers. Overall it is a scoring one."

Shubham Jain, PGT Accountancy, MRG School said, “The Accountancy paper's difficulty level inclined from easy to moderate and the students were able to complete the paper in time. Few of the questions required critical thinking and were indirect but overall the response from the students is that the paper was satisfatorily completed by them. It was a balanced paper as per the CBSE guidelines.”

Yogesh Tripathi, PGT Acccountancy & Business Studies, Vidyagyan School Sitapur said, “Class XII Accountancy examination was moderate in difficulty level. There were a good amalgamation of high-order thinking questions and competency-based questions. Some of the questions were straight from the NCERT book. Students were able to complete the paper on time. There were a few tricky questions that required careful consideration. Overall it was a balanced paper."

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Accountancy paper on Friday, March 31, 2023 was simple and well balanced. There were easy and straightforward questions, some questions that required direct application of theories and a few that required deep analysis and interpretation.

Accountancy examination was for 80 marks, to be attempted within 3 hours.

The paper had total of 34 questions which were divided into two sections, i.e. Part A and Part B.

Part A: Accounting for Partnership Firms and Companies

Part B had two options, i.e (i) Analysis of Financial Statements and (ii) Computerized Accounting.

While Part A was compulsory, Part B had two-sub sections, to choose from.

As per the candidates who wrote the examination today, CBSE Class 12 Accountancy examination was easy for most of the parts. Some questions in Part A were direct but were lengthy.

However, overall the paper was balanced, within the capabilities of all the students.

The Class XII Accountancy Board Exam was certainly not a difficult exam to crack for students who had prepared well for it. There were 2 sections - A and B - comprising of 34 questions. Section A comprised of MCQs and 3 to 6 mark questions, wherein some were knowledge-based and the rest were application-based. Section B consisted of a mix of direct and application-based questions. Some of the questions were easy and some were of moderate level of difficulty. Questions varied in different sets. Overall, the exam was of a moderate level. Students were able to complete it on time. We hope the students to score well.

Dhruba Mijar, PGT- Accountancy, Modern English School, Guwahati said, "The question paper was easy as compared to the sample paper issued by CBSE. Most of the MCQs were concept based and the difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate bearing some critical thinking questions too.

Long questions were mostly direct with less criticality. Overall the question paper was well-designed and covered almost all topics of the syllabus. Students with good command over the subject can easily score well on the paper."

Today's Accountancy paper was a balanced paper. It was more or less based on CBSE sample paper. The difficulty level was maintained. One theory question of 3 marks included in part B was a little challenging and could confuse the students.

Mayank Arora, PGT, Accountancy, DPS Rajnagar Extension said, “The Class XII Accountancy paper was successfully concluded by the CBSE on 31st March'2023. The level of paper was moderate. According to the students, they were able to complete the paper in time and were able to revise it . The thorough knowledge of basic concepts was good enough to solve most of the questions. Most of the MCQs were straight forward except a few and could be answered easily. The six marker questions were application based and a good practice of that would have made the students solve them easily. Part-B of the paper was too easy. Overall, students were satisfied with the level of paper and claimed the paper as a balanced one.”

CBSE 12th Accountancy Paper 2023 will end at 1.30 pm today. The examination was started at 10.30 am.
