Actor Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the upcoming 18th Kolkata International Film Festival at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s behest.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the upcoming 18th Kolkata International Film Festival at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s behest. Didi, as Banerjee is called, personally called up Big B to request him to be the chief guest at the fest. An official at Banerjee’s secretariat revealed that she reminded the actor of his Kolkata links. The gala, which starts on November 10, will also honour Bachchan with a retrospective of his films.
