A model’s CV, unlike normal ones, doesn't require a career objective, or for that matter, educational background. Even if there is one, the career objective would be 'to get rich and famous immediately' and instead of the educational background, there would be the vital statistics. So when I was asked to send my 'CV' to a new channel last week, which is considering hiring me as an anchor, it took me time to recollect what that actually was.
While updating my profile, I must say I was surprised at the length that my CV has reached in the past couple of years! My updated CV includes being called as a guest on a chat show hosted by an actor/director and interviewed by a news channel on the life of a model. I also participated in a game show by mistake, but ended up winning a cool amount. Add to that the cover of a magazine recently, but that didn't turn out to be as great as I expected. Only the ramp section has dried up since the last six months, and the print bit never really took off after the first couple of shoots.
My best work till date, which my friends sometimes boast about to their friends, is actually not mine, and I admit it openly here. It started with my mom confusing me with the model of that project, as the profile of the guy bore perfect resemblance to me. When I told her it wasn't me, she thought I was joking. And to my surprise, I received 70 odd comments within half a day congratulating me on the work on Facebook after that! By the time I logged in to tell the truth, the blood had spilled all over, and I was getting international calls from friends asking me how the experience was!
I didn't have the heart to tell people that it wasn't me, so I have been playing along since. Usually, I don't mention it, not because I'm ethical, but because I'm afraid that if I mention it to someone from the industry, I might get caught. I don't include it in my profile as well, except if I'm very desperate – and that has happened only once till now. It's an insecure industry, and now you know why they say that.
PS : I thought I should mention this girl who has been messaging me on FB every day from the past 100 days without fail! Thanks N, your messages really make my day.
