Suriya plays a small part in R Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. A new video shared by Madhavan shows Suriya's first reaction to the actor's look as Nambi Narayanan.
Actor Suriya has a cameo in the Tamil version of R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. On Tuesday, Madhavan took to Instagram and shared a BTS video from the set. The clip shows Suriya arriving on the set to film his portion. Suriya was left stunned after he saw Madhavan in Nambi Narayanan’s look. In the film, Madhavan plays the role of Indian scientist Nambi Narayanan, a former Indian Space Research Organization scientist and aerospace engineer, known for developing efficient liquid fuel engines. He later also became known for his connection to a spy scandal.
While Shah Rukh Khan has a cameo in the Hindi version of the movie, Suriya has played the same role for the Tamil version.
Madhavan shared a new video clip in which Suriya arrives on the sets and looks shocked after seeing Madhavan look unrecognisable as Nambi Narayanan. Sharing the clip, Madhavan wrote: “Only my bro @actorsuriya can make me feel so good and react like this. Nambi sir is a huge fan of my bro and his father (sic).”
In the video, Suriya walks onto the set and after seeing Madhavan, puts his hands on his mouth in disbelief. Madhavan walks up to Suriya to shake his hand, and introduces him to the real Nambi Narayanan.
Madhavan had earlier said that Suriya jumped at the opportunity of playing a small role in the film; Suriya worked without taking a penny, he added.
“When I told Suriya that Shah Rukh ji is doing a small role in the Hindi version and that I wanted him to play the same role for the Tamil version, he immediately said he’d do it. When it came to shooting, Suriya flew down to Mumbai’s Mehboob studio with his staff and shot for the scene. He booked his own flight tickets and didn’t even charge a penny for his work.”
