Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya to star in Ekta Kapoor’s new romantic drama on Star Plus: Reports

Television actors Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya could soon be seen sharing the screen in a brand-new show. The two actors are reportedly in talks to headline Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming romantic family drama for Star Plus. While the project is still under development and the cast is yet to be officially announced by the makers, the reported pairing has already sparked curiosity among television viewers. This will mark return to daily soap for both the actors.

What is the new show about?

According to Telly Masala, the upcoming series is reportedly being planned as a romantic family drama, with relationships and family dynamics expected to form an important part of the story. The project is being developed by Ekta Kapoor’s production house Balaji Telefilms and is currently believed to be in the casting phase.

There is also speculation that the new show could eventually take over the time slot currently occupied by Smriti Irani-led Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. However, there has been no official confirmation about its launch schedule or proposed time slot so far. Some reports suggest that the series is being targeted for an October 2026 launch on Star Plus.

About the actors

Gaurav Khanna became a household name with his role as Anuj Kapadia in Anupamaa. After stepping away from the popular daily soap, the actor has remained in the spotlight through reality television. He is currently part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 and previously emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 19.

Shraddha Arya is reportedly being considered for the female lead in the same show. The actor is best known for playing Preeta in Kundali Bhagya, a role that made her one of the most familiar faces on Hindi television. She played that role from 2017 to 2024. It was a spin-off of the TV show Kumkum Bhagya and produced by Ekta Kapoor. So, if all goes well, this would be her second project under Ekta's banner.

Shraddha has been away from a regular daily fiction role following her long association with Kundali Bhagya. The actor got married and had twins after which she took a break. But, she was briefly seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. If the casting is finalised, the show could bring together Guarvav and Shraddha as a fresh television pairing.
