Akanksha Chamola says she and Gaurav Khanna have not got the time to sign divorce papers because of work schedule
Akanksha Chamola, who participated in Lock Upp Sach ya Sazaa, shared she is divorcing Gaurav Khanna and does not want kids.
Akanksha Chamola revealed during the premiere of Lock Upp season 2 that she is getting a divorce from Gaurav Khanna. The revelation shocked many, as she revealed that this is the first time she is sharing this update about their personal life. In the show, she also opened up about being bisexual and not wanting kids. Now, in an event covered by NewsX, Akanksha has opened up about the separation and impending divorce. What Akanksha shared about her divorce
When asked about whether the divorce is happening after all, Akanksha replied, “It is definitely happening. It was happening way before I entered the show [Lock Upp]. It was happening before Gaurav entered Khatron Ke Khiladi. It is just that we have not been able to find that proper time to sit and sign the documents yet, because of our time clashing, work schedules and everything. Unlike what people think life is not that easy when you are an actor, because when you both are struggling and trying to have your own schedules… not everything is the way you want it to happen.”
‘We took 18 months to decide’
She went on to add the decision to divorce happened two months prior to Lock Upp. “Sometime before he entered Khatron Ke Khiladi. So for us to genuinely decide that fine things are not working out, we took time for that. We took 18 months to decide that okay we are meant to be with each other, that marriage is not something that is there for us in the future,” she said.
About their relationship
Akanksha Chamola has also featured in popular television shows such as Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Crime Patrol. She and Gaurav Khanna got married in 2016 after dating for some time, reportedly meeting and falling in love during an audition. Gaurav and Akanksha tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in a lavish three-day wedding celebration held in Gaurav’s hometown, Kanpur.
During Bigg Boss, Gaurav was emotional after being accused of playing the sympathy card by discussing his wife’s decision not to have children. It all took place last year on Day 1 of the finale week, the finalists faced a tough media interaction. A reporter questioned Gaurav, saying that when he earlier mentioned on the show that his wife does not want children, many viewers felt it was a calculated attempt to gain sympathy.
