Sources said an encounter took place at Yairipok Pechi of Thoubal district between armed militants and a police team during which one unidentified ultra was killed on the spot while some militants escaped into nearby areas after the encounter. There was no report of any casualty on the police side, sources said.

Three members of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) were arrested by Assam Rifles personnels from Churachandpur Bazar in Manipur's Churachandpur district this morning and handed over to the police, sources added.
