Five held with counterfeit currency notes in Guna, MP

Five persons were arrested in Guna on Monday, allegedly with counterfeit Indian currency notes having a face value of Rs 1.24 lakh, police said.

Five persons were arrested in Guna on Monday, allegedly with counterfeit Indian currency notes having a face value of Rs 1.24 lakh, police said.

Maya alias Mritunjay Verma -- the alleged kingpin of the gang -- hails from Rajbeer Colony in Delhi, Guna Superintendent of Police KPV Rao told reporters this evening.

He said the other accused were Mustaqeem Khan and Ramniwas Meena -- both from Rajasthan -- and Azad Pathan of Mandsaur and Manoj Goswami of Madhya Pradesh.

The SP said that besides the fake notes, two motorbikes and five mobile phones have been recovered from the accused.

Rao said that they have informed Madhya Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad and Delhi Police and were interrogating the accused to extract information about their modus operandi.
