Five militants belonging to different organisations have been arrested from different places in Manipur, police said today.

Sources said Assam Rifles personnel arrested a member of banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Vice Chairman faction)--PREPAK-VC, identified as T Ojit (38) from Sekamaijin area in Thoubal district last evening.

In another search operation, a militant of Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) faction, identified as A Bir Singh (56), was arrested by the Assam Rifles from Kakching area yesterday in Thoubal district, sources said adding one 9 mm pistol was recovered from him.

In yet another search operation, police commandos arrested two militants of Kangleipak Communist Party (Lalheiba faction) identified a K Naoba (22) Kh Raghu (49) from Nongren area in Imphal east district yesterday, sources said.

Commandos also arrested a member of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak identified as N Lokeshore (40) from Thongju area in Imphal east district yesterday, sources said adding that all the five militants have been handed over to nearby police stations for further investigation.
