Janata Dal (S) President and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda on Wednesday said he would support any move to form an alternative to the Congress and the BJP while terming newly-formed Jan Morcha alliance as "insignificant".
"I am with anyone who tries to form a third front to fight the Congress and the BJP," he told reporters after a meeting with Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Gowda said he had an old friendship with Yadav dating back to the days he was Defence Minister in the United Front government in 1996-97.
Referring to former prime minister VP Singh-led Jan Morcha, he said, "that Jan Morcha is no morcha".
Yadav, who called on Gowda here, refused to divulge his discussions with the JD(S) leader.
"When two political personalities meet, politics is bound to be discussed," he, however, hastened to add on persistent queries.
