Amreli is one of the many Patidar pockets , which are traditionally the BJP bastion, but the party has suffered drubbing here in the recently concluded local polls.

An FIR under Section 66 (A) (b) of the Information Technology Act, 2003, and Section 504 of the IPC for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, based on complaint filed by Sanghani’s nephew Kamlesh, has been registered against the seven.
