THE DISTRICT administration here released a list of the proposed hike in the DM’s circle rates on Tuesday.

Additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Yogesh Kumar Shukla said 15 days’ time had been given to people to file their objections/suggestions, if any, to the proposed hike. After that, the new circle rates would officially be announced on May 24. He said a seminar on the issue would be organised on May 18 to raise awareness among people. Under the provisional list, a 33pc hike has been suggested for Gomti Nagar, where the present circle rate is Rs 4500 per square metre.

“The revised rate will be around Rs 6,000 per square metre, which is more or less the same as the prevailing market rate in the area,” the ADM pointed out.

Likewise, 36 per cent increase has been recommended for Indira Nagar, 20 to 25pc hike for Rae Bareli, Vrindavan and Sharda Nagar housing schemes, 13pc for Rajajipuram and 10 per cent increase in all non-developed areas that came under the municipal corporation’s limit, said Shukla.
