Frank Pallone has been elected from District 6 in New Jersey, returning to US House defeating a little-known Republican.
Frank Pallone, a known friend of India, has been elected from District 6 in New Jersey, returning to the US House defeating a little-known Republican opponent who was a graduate of Bombay University.

New Jersey, which is a Democratic leaning state, voted along partisan lines. Sylvester Fernandez nevertheless made a good showing bagging 30 per cent of the vote.

New Jerseyans, according to exit polls, were most angry with President George W Bush for the war in Iraq and less concerned about terrorism.
In the presidential elections, Senator John Kerry secured 53 per cent of the vote in New Jersey and President Bush 46 per cent with 67 per cent of the vote counted.
