J&K hospital staff suspended for rape attempt

A hospital staffer has been suspended today for allegedly trying to rape a female patient here, officials said.

A hospital staffer has been suspended on Sunday for allegedly trying to rape a female patient here, officials said.

Nisar Ahmed, a staffer of Jammu and Kashmir Government Chest Disease hospital, took a female patient of Mahore belt of Reasi district to isolated room on the pretext of conducting a test last evening, they said.

He tried to rape her, but woman patient managed to escape, they said, adding the matter was reported to hospital authorities.

Medical Superintendent of CD hospital, Ravinder Pal suspended Ahmed and police have booked him in connection with the attempt to rape case, they said.

Police have launched a hunt to track down Ahmed, who has absconded after the incident, they said.
