Leopard injures 8

EIGHT PERSONS, including a forest ranger, were injured when a leopard hiding in a field attacked them in Chhota Barda village under Ajand police station of Badwani district this morning.

EIGHT PERSONS, including a forest ranger, were injured when a leopard hiding in a field attacked them in Chhota Barda village under Ajand police station of Badwani district this morning.

District Forest Officer (DFO) S S Rawat informed that a leopard attacked a farmer Laxman who was irrigating his field in Chhota Badra village at 6.30 am.

Soon after receiving information, villagers with arms surrounded the entire field. Meanwhile, police and officials of the Forest Department also reached the spot.

In their attempt to catch the leopard, eight persons including a ranger Mahesh Arya were injured after the big cat attacked them. All the injured were admitted to district hospital, Rawat added. The villagers were also advised to be away from the area and be careful during night hours.
