A man allegedly burned his wife then set himself on fire. The couple left behind two minor children

A man allegedly burnt his wife and then set himself on fire in Shillong, police said on Friday.

The couple from Upper Lumparing area succumbed to their injuries yesterday after October Sohtun (39) poured kerosene on his wife, Kerlin, and set her on fire.

Sohtun later immolated himself by hugging his burning wife, they said. Sohtun was working at the North East Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO). The couple left behind two minor children.
