Parisian punch
Yet another foreign fashion brand, Morgan De Toisees, sees a desi launch. Parisian brand aims at catering to smart & stylish.
The launch of an international line of women’s wear always attracts the young and trendy about town. More so, if it’s the Parisian brand, Morgan De Toi, which aims at catering to the smart and the stylish.

Whether the brand lives upto its promise or makes India a dumping ground for unsold products, only time will tell. For now, the launch took place with a glittering fashion show. On display were soft tops, smart officewear and partywear. Walking the ramp were the likes of Laxmi Rana, Sapna Kumar and Sampada Inamdar.
“Our chief competition is the Spanish brand Mango, besides affordable pretlines by Indian designers,” said spokesperson Simran Thukral. The prices range from Rs 1,295 - 5,000.
The post-launch party at a nearby coffee bar was strictly by invitation. They needn’t have been that vigilant — most partygoers were busy at a city gym that had organised an all-male fashion show strictly for women the same evening.
Even showstopper at the brand’s fashion show launch, Ramona Garware (for whom the show was delayed by an hour!), decided to skip the party. Others who came for the launch included Raja Dhody; Queenie Singh; Priya Kakkar; Monish and Alka Bali; Jhon Lynch, director of Foster’s; Antoine Baksh, the entrepreneur who started the popular hot and juicy corn, Jas and Bonnie Arora, Shefali Talwar in a denim skirt, deejay Amit Bhatia of Tapas Lounge and Ipsita Nayak of Vladivar, among others.
