Watching your kid play with a Barbie doll or a Lego set may make the clutter at home seem worth it, but what if you could rent a branded toy and return it once your kid has outgrown it? Making this dream a reality is that commenced operations in Mumbai recently. Offering only branded toys from companies like Fisher-Price, Ok Play, Funskool, LeapFrog, Play School and Baby Einstein, this online library offers parents several plans to rent toys and return it as per their convenience. These toys cater to kids in the age group of 0-10 years.

We cater to working parents in metros who want to avoid a mess at home and are looking to rent toys minus the time-consuming process,” says Manoj Kumar, founder of The company, which has branches in Bangalore and Hyderabad, has around 60 customers in the city already renting the 100 toys on offer. This includes popular toys like HCL First Laptop and My Pal Scout.

Emphasis is laid on cleanliness. Also, only toys with minimal loose parts are stored “to avoid accidents”. Kumar says, “If there is breakage, we give parents time to find the missing part. Else, we ask parents to pay for the part’s replacement or in the worst-case scenario, pay the depreciated value of the toy.”

Kumar adds that the reason for going in for branded toys was so that parents don’t need to worry about them being dangerous. “These toys are well researched, devoid of toxic and chemical elements and also aid a child’s development. Also, parents can avoid purchasing expensive toys that their kids may outgrow in a few months.” However, those interested in purchasing the toy can get in touch with the company, which will sell it at a reduced cost.

Mother of two, Krutika Shah, who works in a bank in Malad, says, “This concept works because working moms like me can avoid guilt-shopping because we don’t spend enough time with our kids. Also, kids can enjoy more toys at affordable costs.” it works
