Amidst the monsoon, I decided to experience Ooty at its most magical with Nilgiri views, greenery, and an indulgent stay at this 5-star resort.

Set amidst the lush green forests and picturesque Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, Ayatana Resort and spa Ooty invites you to unwind and relax while soaking in nature at its best. Spread over 20 acres, this place boasts breathtaking views of the valley, an awe-inspiring infinity pool, a recreational area, bonfire setup, indoor games, and a premium room with a private balcony and temperature controlled private jacuzzi. My experience at this resort reminded me of the charm of a European town, where grand architecture and tranquil surroundings came together beautifully.

My journey began with a double flight from Varanasi to Hyderabad and Hyderabad to Coimbatore, followed by a scenic drive of around three hours through winding roads and hills. I am someone who experiences motion sickness, so the three-hour drive through winding mountain roads and hairpin bends was quite a challenge. But the moment I stepped into the resort, the exhaustion seemed to melt away, and I instantly felt rejuvenated. Enclosed within grand-red stone-clad walls, the resort exudes a contemporary colonial vibe.

Amenities

The 5-star property is surrounded by Nilgiri hills and lush green forests, and each villa features a private balcony offering breathtaking views of the valley. The resort offered three types of chalet/villa, which included standard, deluxe, and jacuzzi chalets. Each room is well-equipped with cloud-like beds, contemporary amenities, and elegant fireplaces. The resort also boasts a range of recreational facilities, indoor games, and an awe-inspiring infinity pool.

Dining

The resort houses Tycoon’s Bengaluru’s renowned fine-dining restaurant within the resort that offers a range of cuisines ranging from North Indian to South Indian, Italian, Mexican, and so on. You can indulge in a delicious breakfast and dinner buffet, or also check out their in-room lunch and dinner services.

Experiences

While the resort itself makes you feel rejuvenated, the experiences offered within the premises can bring back childhood memories. From an early morning nature walk through the tea gardens, where you can spot birds and wildlife, to indulging in rope-course activities and unwinding in the infinity pool, the entire day feels sorted, even if you have no plans to explore the city.
