Anil Namdev Yadav, 32, was the brother of Sunil Namdev Yadav, who died at the front during the 1999 Kargil War. Police inspector Prakash Nilewad said, “Anil Yadav’s body was found hanging on Sunday morning in a chawl which was under construction. Police have not found any suicide note from the spot. We have registered an accidental death report and have informed his family in Satara.”

Before committing suicide, Anil had sent an SMS to his wife, Suvarna, in which he wrote that he was ending his life due to harassment by the gram panchayat sarpanch and Block Development Officer in Gharvali village. Suvarna confirmed that she received the SMS, and said she had informed the Manpada police about the same.
