Akshay Kumar extends his support for Khelo India School Games

Akshay Kumar became the latest big name to praise the Khelo India School Games when the Bollywood actor attended the competition on Tuesday.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Wednesday extended his support for the ongoing Khelo India School Games by taking the pledge and urging everyone to come forward and play.

Akshay Kumar, while commenting on his association with Khelo India, said, “I am delighted to see that for the first time ever, through the Khelo India School Games & the broadcast of it on the Star Sports network, young sporting talent is being recognized and rewarded instantly.”

“But this is only the beginning and I hope that the Khelo India movement gets the right momentum through your support. So, come forward and support the Khelo India movement. Saath mein hai Hum, Khelo India!”

The actor was present at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday to support the youngsters taking part in the inaugural Khelo India School Games. He interacted with the athletes and even tried his hand at Badminton with Maisam Meiraba Luwang, a 16-year-old youngster from Manipur.

The inaugural edition of the Khelo India School Games is being held across 16 disciplines in the U-17 age category and 5,000 school children from 29 states and seven union territories are participating in the event from January 31 to February 8.
