One booked for child abuse
A 35-year-old man was booked for allegedly abusing a minor girl at Parur village of Sunam block of the district on Friday. On the complaint of the girl, who is a sixth class student, the case has been registered at Sunam sadar police station against Gurcharan Singh, resident of Parur village.

Talking to HT, Sunam police station in-charge said that in her complaint the girl alleged that Gurcharan passed indecent comments on her when she stepped out of home for school during the last two-three days. The girl said that Gurcharan also asked her to come to his house.
The SHO said that the case has been registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, Sections 354 and 506 of the IPC. The police are tracing the whereabouts of Gurcharan, who is absconding.
