Temporary staff removed from NIT

After director of BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) was sent on a long leave by the board of governors, acting director Prof AS Ghosh on Wednesday removed many temporary employees working in the administrative block following a union ministry panel meeting with deans.

After director of BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) was sent on a long leave by the board of governors, acting director Prof AS Ghosh on Wednesday removed many temporary employees working in the administrative block following a union ministry panel meeting with deans.

Sources said the acting director removed the temporary employees — including deputy director (accounts), assistant registrar (accounts) and assistant registrar (establishment), who were on contract-basis — from their posts.

The acting director held a meeting with the deans and decided to go for an overhaul and reshuffled the administrative posts.

Earlier, after complaints by several employees, a marathon meeting was held at the NIT on Wednesday between a high-powered committee from the union ministry of human resource development and students and staff over academics and financial management.
