Apple Event 2025: Everything Apple launched
Apple wrapped up its annual fall event, aptly called "Awe Dropping," and it had plenty of moments that lived up to the name. While the much-rumoured Siri upgrade was missing, the company delivered a slim new iPhone Air, redesigned iPhone 17 Pro models, and AirPods Pro with heart rate sensors. The regular iPhone 17 finally gains the long-awaited ProMotion display, and the Apple Watch lineup gets major health-focused upgrades. Apple also confirmed release dates for its next-generation operating systems. Here’s everything announced at the showcase.
iPhone Air is Apple’s slimmest iPhone yet
Note! The name is not iPhone 17 Air. It's iPhone Air. After 18 years, Apple has finally given the iPhone an "Air" moment. The iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6 millimetres thick and 156 grams in weight. Built with 80 percent recycled titanium, it combines durability with a sleek design.
iPhone Air, not iPhone 17 Air, launched as Apple’s thinnest phone till date, priced at…
Replacing the Plus model, the iPhone Air sits between the iPhone 17 and Pro lineup, priced at ₹1,19,900. It offers a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, the A19 Pro chip, and a single 48MP camera that supports four focal lengths. It also debuts Apple’s in-house N1 wireless networking chip and C1X cellular modem.
The thin frame comes with trade-offs. There’s no dual camera system, the battery is smaller compared to other iPhones, and it relies exclusively on eSIM without support for physical SIM cards. Apple positions the Air as a new category within the iPhone lineup, similar to what it did previously with Plus and Mini, now borrowing the successful "Air" branding seen on MacBooks and iPads.
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max get a fresh design
The iPhone 17 Pro lineup finally moves away from the stove-top camera design that debuted on the iPhone 11 Pro. Apple has introduced the "plateau," a glass panel stretching across the rear, shifting the Apple logo slightly lower to align with MagSafe coils.
iPhone Air launched at Rs. 1.20 Lakhs, but is it the right phone for you?
For the first time in years, Apple has returned to aluminium for the Pro models, citing better heat management than titanium. A new vapour chamber cooling system further improves sustained performance.
This new structure also allows for larger batteries, with the Pro Max offering up to 39 hours of video playback. The rear camera system now includes three 48MP sensors. The telephoto camera uses a next-gen tetraprism with a larger sensor, enabling 8x optical zoom at 200mm, along with 4x zoom at 100mm for classic portraits. Digital zoom extends to 40x.
Filmmakers also get new tools like ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, genlock for multi-camera syncing, and Dual Capture for simultaneous front-and-rear recording. The A19 Pro chip delivers 40 percent higher sustained performance compared to last year.
The iPhone 17 Pro comes in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes, with colours limited to deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver. Prices start at ₹1,34,000 for the Pro and ₹1,49,900 for the Pro Max, with a new 2TB storage option at ₹2,29,900.
iPhone 17 finally gets ProMotion
Apple has brought its 120Hz ProMotion display to the regular iPhone 17, a long-requested feature. The 6.3-inch panel supports refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Bezels are slimmer, though the overall design remains unchanged from last year.
The dual 48MP rear cameras include a significantly upgraded ultra-wide sensor that captures 4x more detail. The front camera is an 18MP unit with Center Stage support, automatically framing group selfies and rotating seamlessly between portrait and landscape.
Powered by the A19 chip, the iPhone 17 offers up to 30 hours of video playback. Storage starts at 256GB, replacing the outdated 128GB base model. Available in black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white, the iPhone 17 is priced at ₹82,900, with pre-orders opening September 12.
Apple introduces official crossbody straps
Crossbody straps for iPhones are not new, but Apple is now making its own. Made with recycled yarn and flexible magnets for adjustable length, the straps come in ten colours and cost $59.
New TechWoven cases replace FineWoven
Apple has replaced the underwhelming FineWoven cases with TechWoven, which use multicoloured yarns for a textured finish. The new cases are scratch- and stain-resistant, available in black, blue, purple, sienna, and green.
The iPhone Air also gets ultra-thin protective cases to maintain its slim profile, including translucent and bumper options. For the iPhone 17, Apple offers clear and silicone cases in five colours.
AirPods Pro 3 add heart rate sensors
The AirPods Pro 3 come with built-in heart rate monitoring using infrared sensors, tracking over 50 workout types in sync with iPhone data. Noise cancellation is now 4x stronger than the original, and fit has been refined with five ear tip sizes, including a new XXS option.
With IP57 water resistance, personalised coaching via Workout Buddy, and real-time translation across five languages at launch, the AirPods Pro 3 are Apple’s most advanced earbuds yet. They deliver up to 8 hours of playback with ANC, priced at ₹25,900, available September 19.
Apple Watch Series 11 focuses on health
The Apple Watch Series 11 introduces hypertension notifications, using long-term optical heart sensor readings to detect chronic high blood pressure risks. A new Sleep Score system provides detailed insights using data from over five million nights of studies.
It also brings 5G connectivity, improved scratch resistance with Ion-X glass, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Prices start at ₹46,900.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 adds satellite connectivity
Designed for adventurers, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 supports satellite communication for emergency texts, location sharing, and messaging when off-grid. Apple re-engineered the radio and antenna to boost signal strength for satellites in low-Earth orbit.
With the largest Apple Watch display to date, thinner bezels, and LTPO3 technology, the Ultra 3 delivers 42 hours of standard battery life or 72 hours in Low Power Mode. It starts at ₹89,900.
Apple Watch SE 3 gets Always-On display
The most affordable Apple Watch SE 3 now includes an Always-On display, 5G support, faster charging, and improved durability. It also offers health features like sleep scoring, ovulation estimates, and sleep apnea detection. Starting price is ₹25,900.
iOS 26 and other OS updates arrive September 15
Apple has confirmed the release dates for its 2026 operating systems: iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, and watchOS 26. They roll out on September 15 with a new "Liquid Glass" design language that introduces translucent elements across the interface.

Apple Event 2025 LIVE update: Biggest changes tipped for iPhone 17
The iPhone 17 is expected to bring a mix of hardware upgrades and fresh design tweaks. Here are the most talked-about improvements:
- New selfie camera
A 24MP front-facing camera is tipped to replace the 12MP unit from last year, promising sharper details and a 2x crop option without quality loss.
2. Always-on display
Apple could finally bring Always-on Display functionality to the standard iPhone range, made possible by adopting ProMotion screen technology.
3. Upgraded display
A larger 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED ProMotion panel is expected, replacing the 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 16. This brings smoother animations and a more immersive viewing experience.
4. Processor and memory
The new A19 chip paired with 8GB RAM should offer smoother performance and better support for iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence features, even if raw gains over the A18 remain modest.
5. Fresh colour options
Alongside the usual Black and White, Apple is likely to introduce new colour finishes for buyers in 2025.

Apple Event 2025 live updates: iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 rollout timeline, supported iPhones and iPads
iPhones losing support with iOS 26
For 2025, Apple is drawing the line at devices first launched in 2018. The following models will not receive iOS 26 or future security updates:
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
These models will remain on iOS 25, but without ongoing support. Older iPhones, such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, had already been phased out in earlier years, making this the next step in Apple’s update cycle.
iPhones compatible with iOS 26
For most iPhone users, the news is positive. All iPhones introduced from 2019 onwards remain eligible for the new update. The full list of supported devices includes:
- iPhone SE (second generation and later)
- iPhone 11 series
- iPhone 12 series
- iPhone 13 series
- iPhone 14 series
- iPhone 15 series
- iPhone 16 range, including the iPhone 16e
This ensures that even older models like the iPhone 11 continue to receive the latest features and security improvements, extending their usable lifespan.
iPads getting iPadOS 26
Apple has also confirmed which tablets will support iPadOS 26. The list covers recent and older models still in circulation:
- iPad Pro (M4 and later models)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and newer)
- iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and newer)
- iPad Air (3rd generation and later, including M2 and M3 versions)
- iPad (8th generation and newer, including A16 variant)
- iPad mini (5th generation and newer, including A17 Pro version)
Apple Event 2025 live updates: iPhone 17 Pro Max camera innovations expected at launch
Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to push boundaries in mobile photography, with camera upgrades positioned as one of the key highlights of the 2025 lineup. Over the years, Apple has consistently focused on improving its imaging system, and this year’s flagship is likely to take another significant step forward.
First periscope telephoto lens on an iPhone
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is widely tipped to debut Apple’s first-ever periscope telephoto camera. Industry leaks suggest the lens will support up to 6x optical zoom, which would be the longest zoom capability ever offered on an iPhone. Until now, Apple has limited its telephoto zoom range, while rivals such as Samsung have capitalised on periscope designs. The inclusion of this feature will help Apple catch up in the zoom photography race and appeal to buyers who want sharper, more detailed long-range shots without digital crop loss.
Improved low-light photography
Low-light performance is another area where Apple is expected to make strides. The iPhone 17 Pro Max may ship with larger sensors and improved image signal processing through the new A19 Pro chip, resulting in cleaner, brighter photos even in challenging conditions. Night Mode is likely to see upgrades, with faster shutter response and reduced motion blur in dim environments.
8K video recording
Video has always been a strong suit for iPhones, and this year, Apple could extend its lead by enabling 8K video recording. For professional creators, this will allow higher flexibility in editing and cropping without losing detail. Combined with advanced stabilisation and ProRes support, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is set to be a powerful tool for mobile filmmakers and content creators.
While many of these features target professionals, Apple is also expected to refine the overall camera experience for casual users. Better portrait shots, enhanced HDR, and more efficient processing will benefit day-to-day photography. For many buyers in India and globally, these upgrades could be a deciding factor when weighing the iPhone 17 Pro Max against competing ultra-premium devices.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is shaping up to be Apple’s most ambitious camera phone to date. With the combination of a periscope telephoto lens, enhanced low-light performance, and 8K video support, it may set new benchmarks for smartphone imaging in 2025.
iPhone 17 Pro Max price in India: Expected cost, pre-booking date, and availability details
Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 series globally on 9 September 2025, with India as one of the first wave markets. Among the new devices, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be the most expensive model in the lineup.
While Apple will reveal the official pricing at the launch event, industry analysts estimate that the iPhone 17 Pro Max price in India is expected to begin at around Rs. 1,39,900. This would place the smartphone at the top end of the ultra-premium category, in line with Apple’s strategy of keeping the Pro Max model as its flagship offering.
Apple has followed a similar pricing structure with previous launches, where the Pro Max carried the highest entry price compared to the standard and Pro models. The final price may vary depending on storage configurations, with higher-capacity variants expected to cross the Rs. 1,60,000 mark.
Pre-booking and availability in India
Pre-bookings for the iPhone 17 Pro Max will most likely begin on 12 September 2025 across authorised Apple resellers, Apple’s online store, and major e-commerce platforms. The smartphone may go on sale both in stores and online from 19 September 2025.
Apple typically ensures parallel availability across its key markets, and India is expected to receive stock from day one. With the iPhone 17 series being assembled in India, supply is likely to be more streamlined than previous years, reducing wait times for customers.
iPhone 17 launch event live updates: Check out iPhone 17 series cases ahead of launch
At IFA 2025 in Berlin, we spotted several MagSafe-supported cases allegedly designed for the upcoming iPhone 17 series, launching tomorrow, September 9. The line-up includes cases for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and even a new variant. These cases, paired with dummies, give us an early glimpse at what Apple’s next-gen iPhones could look like.
iPhone 17 launch event live updates: Apple to sell ‘Made in India’ models to the US from day one
Apple will manufacture all four iPhone 17 models in India, including the two Pro variants, and ship them to the United States from the very first day of sales. This marks the first time that Pro models will also be assembled in India for global supply. The move reflects Apple’s long-term strategy to diversify production away from China and reduce risks linked to tariffs and geopolitical tensions.
According to Bloomberg, Apple now runs five iPhone manufacturing facilities in India, with two of them opening in the past year. These factories are expected to serve a major portion of US demand for the iPhone 17 lineup directly from India, starting September 2025. By increasing capacity in India, Apple aims to shield itself from trade duties, which could cost the company around $1.1 billion this quarter alone.
The production shift is part of Apple’s broader plan to establish India as a core manufacturing hub for its global supply chain. The country has become increasingly important for Apple, both as a growing consumer market and as a base for export-led production.
The Tata Group is emerging as a key partner for Apple in India’s iPhone production ecosystem. Tata’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu is expected to play a leading role in manufacturing, while its facilities could account for nearly half of India’s iPhone output within the next two years.
Alongside Tata, Foxconn has expanded its presence with a new manufacturing hub near Bangalore airport, which is already producing units for export. Together, these facilities form the backbone of Apple’s India production strategy.
iPhone 17 launch event live updates: Should you buy the iPhone 16 Pro before the iPhone 17 Pro arrives in India?
If you urgently need a new phone because your current one has stopped working, picking up the iPhone 16 Pro is still a solid choice. It remains a powerful device with excellent cameras and enough performance to last several years. For buyers who do not prioritise having the latest specifications or design changes, the iPhone 16 Pro continues to be a dependable option.
However, if you can wait a few more days, holding out for the iPhone 17 Pro makes sense. Apple is expected to introduce design refinements and upgraded hardware, including a new processor, display improvements and other performance enhancements that could make the iPhone 17 Pro a more future-proof purchase.
There is also an important factor to consider regarding materials. Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro may move away from titanium and adopt aluminium instead. This change could disappoint users who prefer the premium feel and durability of titanium. If titanium is a priority for you, the iPhone 16 Pro might be the better option while it is still available.
iPhone 17 launch event live updates: iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max to be discontinued after iPhone 17 launch
Apple is expected to discontinue the iPhone 16 Pro models once the new iPhone 17 Pro goes on sale, continuing its established strategy of phasing out older Pro variants. In previous years, the iPhone X was removed from the line-up when the XS launched, the XS when the iPhone 11 Pro arrived, the 11 Pro with the 12 Pro, and most recently, the 15 Pro when the 16 Pro was introduced.
Going by the same approach, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will likely be discontinued once the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max become available. However, Apple is expected to retain the standard iPhone 16, along with the iPhone 16e, at reduced prices to appeal to a wider audience.
