On May 8, a large chunk of concrete fell off the surface of the flyover in the wee hours causing a large hole on the road.

Court directs cops to act against NHAI contractor

The complainant, Ramesh Yadav, a city-based RTI activist, had demanded that action should be taken against the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contractor and officials involved in construction of the “faulty” flyover, which has suffered damages twice within a span of one year.

Talking to HT, Dhillon said the land belonging to around 200 farmer families is to be acquired as per the plan under which a highway, a terminal and an integrated checkpost (ICP) will be established. He said a total of 110 acres will be acquired for the project.

The Iffco Chowk underpass, a unidirectional L-shaped structure meant for commuters travelling from the HUDA City Centre to Sikanderpur on MG Road, is all set to open this Sunday.

Even though NHAI extended the deadline four times, Reliance Infra, the company responsible for carrying out the project, has once again applied for an extension till April-May 2019 as the work near Nasarapur is still incomplete.
