Driver loses control of truck due to haze, 10 kids among 13 injured in Ludhiana

The thick smog that descended on Ludhiana on Sunday morning resulted in a pick-up truck overturning as its driver lost control of the vehicle due to poor visibility at the Jugiana crossing near Sahnewal on Sunday morning. As many as 13 people, including 10 children and truck driver, returning from a Chhath Puja event, were injured in the accident.

Truck runs over 3-yr-old boy riding cycle with mother in Ludhiana

A three-year-old boy was mowed down by a truck and his mother suffered injuries on Hambran Road on Sunday evening. Sunena told the police that she and her son were on their way to Ayali on a bicycle when a speeding truck hit them from the rear, killing her son, Ashish, on the spot.

Two minor brothers were killed when a scooter being driven by their elder sibling was hit by a truck on Daba Road here on Friday. While Lucky, 9, and Jigar, 8, were crushed by the truck as they fell on the road, Raj, 16, had a miraculous escape. The victims, whose father is a labourer, are residents of Ghora Colony.

Truck driver fined 6 lakh in Odisha, but under old traffic rules

The truck that was fined 6.45 lakh was being driven by Dilip Karta from Jharsuguda and is owned by Shailesh Shankar Kumar Lal Gupta of Bethel Colony, Phek Town in Nagaland. The truck is still under detention at Sambalpur as the owner is yet to pay the penalty.

The 42-year-old truck driver, Harnam Singh, died, while its cleaner, Sudhir Kumar, 25, of Bihar’s Vaishali district was injured, police said.
