Covid update: Biden picks Indian-American Murthy; Nepal thanks India

From Delhi seeing yet another record rise in new cases, to India gifting Nepal ICU ventilators - here are the top news updates on the Covid-19 pandemic. Delhi saw 7,745 new infections on November 8 - the highest in a single day so far. The total tally of the national capital has crossed the 4.38 lakh-mark while active cases are at 41,800+. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that places of worship may be reopened after Diwali. Meanwhile, Nepal thanked India for gifting 28 ventilators despite 'troubled relations in the past'.
