Syed Ali Shah Geelani calls for shutdown in Kashmir

Hard line Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Saturday called for a shutdown in Kashmir in memory of the youngsters who were killed in clashes between locals and paramilitary forces in 2010. Locals welcomed the shutdown saying it is for a right cause and in the memory of their fellowmen. Shops, business establishments, petrol pumps, banks and private schools remained closed. Buses and other means of transportation were also off the roads.
